  • Use Atlas privately without distributing your changes

The Apache License 2.0 requires you to:

  • Include the NOTICE file if present

Dual Licensing Model

Atlas uses a dual licensing model:

  1. Open Source Core (Apache License 2.0)

    • The core functionality of Atlas is available under the Apache License 2.0
    • This covers all components in the main repository
    • Community contributions are accepted under the Apache License 2.0
  2. Commercial License for Enterprise Features

    • Certain enterprise features are available under a separate commercial license
    • These features are developed and maintained by inherent.design
    • The commercial license provides additional rights and services
    • Enterprise features are clearly marked in the documentation

Contributor License Agreement (CLA)

Contributors to Atlas are required to agree to the following terms:

  1. Grant of Copyright License: Contributors grant inherent.design a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free copyright license to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute their contributions and derivative works.

  2. Grant of Patent License: Contributors grant inherent.design a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free patent license for any patents they own that are necessarily infringed by their contribution.

  3. Original Creation: Contributors confirm that they are the original author of the contribution or have the right to submit it.

  4. Responsibility: Contributors understand they are legally responsible for ensuring they have the right to submit their contributions.

The CLA ensures that inherent.design has the necessary rights to distribute contributions under both the open source and commercial licenses.
